Review: Sunday Riley Pink Drink Firming Resurfacing Peptide Face Mist

What It Is: A peptide-infused essence.

What It Does: Visibly firms and resurfaces the skin while supporting its natural microbiome.

Active Ingredients: Fermented honey, green tea, sea water, kelp, chlorella, and botanical extracts.

Verdict: It’s no secret that I’m a HUGE fan of Sunday Riley skincare products. There’s something about these products that are both effective and feel so luxurious when applied to your skin. You don’t have to wait long to see results. After using the Pink Drink for a couple of days I could quickly notice how my skin’s texture vastly improved and has helped with keeping any acne spots away. I know the intended purpose of the Pink Drink is to be used as a spray, but I found it to work best for me as a toner, and then once I go about completing the rest of my nightly skincare routine, I’ll then also spray the mist too. If you’re looking for a face mist that will control the level of germs/bacteria on your skin and help support your natural microbiome, then you absolutely need this in your skincare routine.

Review: Sunday Riley 5 Stars Eye Serum

What It Is: Anti-aging Eye Serum

What It Does: Prevents the forming of fine lines, crow’s feet.

Active Ingredients: Retinoids, Niacinamide, Asiatic Acid, Red Poppy Seed Extract, Daisy Extract, Ceramides, and Olive Oil.

Verdict: First and foremost, I love how this serum feels, it’s hydrating and thick, and I prefer eye creams on the thicker side, especially for night. I wore this for three night straight though before I started noticing that my eye area was getting dry and the skin had a slight sting to it. I think this serum is best applied on top of a moisturizer to serve as a barrier, because the retinoids in the serum seriously dried out my skin where it was applied. Does it work with smoothing fine lines? Yes, it does. That’s why I suggest to use this serum on top of another eye cream because the retinoids in this are seriously powerful and will work but will leave your skin feeling a bit fiery. If your skin is more on the older side, then you’ll probably won’t have this reaction to it.

Review: Sunday Riley C.E.O. Glow Face Oil

IMG_1330

Face oils are pretty much essential during the winter months if you still want to keep your skin soft and glowing. And don’t fret if you have oily or combination skin, face oils actually HELP oily skin reduce fewer oils, instead of using harsh drying creams that make you produce even more oils. This face oil, in particular, leaves your skin so incredibly soft that with this Polar Vortex taking over most of the U.S. you’ll want to invest in something that will keep your skin hydrated!

What It Is: Face Oil

What It Does: Hydrates and brightens skin

Active Ingredients: Vitamin C, Turmeric, and Primrose Oil

Verdict: I can’t even begin to tell you just HOW AMAZING THIS IS! And yes! This face oil is worthy of ALL CAPS TO EXPRESS MY ENTHUSIASM! I’m in love with Vitamin C oils and/or serums because it truly helps brighten up your skin, and if you’re acne-prone like myself, it actually keeps the zits at bay! The Primrose Oil makes it so that the oil is ultra-hydrating and it smells really good! The tumeric, on the other hand, helps reduce inflammation, again, a plus for sensitive and acne prone skin. This oil is so light-weight that it won’t clog your pores, and it’s also fast absorbing which means that it can be used under makeup if you so wish. If you’re going to invest in a face oil, I’d say go ahead and choose this one cause it’s truly the holy grail of face oils.

Review: Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil

IMG_1126

If you’ve been following my blog, then you know that I have a soft spot for skin oils. I know that it may seem counterproductive to use oils if you have oily skin (like I do), but in reality, in some weird way, drying out oily skin actually creates more oil than applying oils. So when I received this product in my latest Allure Beauty Box, I was thrilled to try it out.

Packaging: A gorgeous glass bottle with a dropper dispenser.

What It Does: Moisturizes, eliminates redness, fights wrinkles, makes pores smaller, and improves damaged skin.

Active Ingredients: Retinol and chamomile.

Verdict: Now, I know that some people may not be into this oil because it does have some fragrance to it (and maybe it can be irritating to sensitive skin). But the fragrance that it does have is due to natural essential oils from neroli, blood orange, ylang ylang, and vetiver. But if you don’t have sensitive skin, then this oil may be perfect for you. I really loved how it made my skin feel so velvety soft in the mornings (after applying it at night) and also making it plumper. It truly gave me the dewy skin that is oh so coveted by the beauty world. What I love is that the oil is very lightweight, and it’s perfect even for acne-prone skin as myself. I highly suggest to check it out if you need an oil, but if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to skin oils, then check out my favourite Vitamin C oils here.
