Review: Huda Beauty Legit Lashes

What It Is: A long-lasting, intense black, dual-ended fiber mascara with one side delivering major volume, and the other delivering dramatic curl and insane length.

Ingredient Callouts: This is cruelty-free.

Verdict: I’m always using two to three mascaras at one time, usually I’ll use one to lengthen and then a second one to add volume, and a third one for defining the lashes. Huda Beauty’s Mascara solves this problem by creating two mascaras in one tube! One end is for lengthening lashes and the second end is for volume. This comes really handy especially when you’re traveling and don’t want to carry so many makeup products. This product really worked and I really love how the mascara didn’t clump nor flake off at the end of the day. I recommend this product if you, like me, love to use more than one mascara for your makeup look.

Review: Huda Beauty The Overachiever High Coverage Concealer in Marshmallow

What It Is: High coverage concealer

What It Does: With 31% pure pigment it cover and conceals imperfections.

Active Ingredients: Green Tea and Rose extract

Verdict: I wanted to love this product because the quality is excellent – however, it doesn’t perform the way I need a concealer to perform. Sure, this concealer perfectly blurs dark under eyes circles and blemishes but the formula is terribly unblendable, which means that it easily cracks when dry. I even tried to use a wet Beauty Blender to ease the blending process – but nope! Maybe if one only uses this for blemishes it can work for you, but it cracks and creases way too much to be placed under the eyes. Not to mention, that I always use an eye cream prior to putting concealer, and I’d hate to see someone try to use this without eye cream prior because it would completely dry the skin out. It’s a pity because the shade was a perfect match for me. C’est la vie.

Review: Huda Beauty – Liquid Lipstick

IMG_1413 modified.jpg

What It Is: Long-lasting liquid lipstick

Verdict: Ever since I’ve started using liquid lipsticks back in 2016, I haven’t been able to go back to a bullet tube anymore. There’s something about liquid lipsticks that just hits the spot for me. They’re smudge-free, don’t bleed, and incredibly long-lasting. What’s not to love? I know some people have issues with their lips drying out but that isn’t something that I’ve had to deal with. So, in the past three years, I’ve tried my fair share of liquid lipsticks. When Allure’s Beauty Box centered on Huda Beauty, I was intrigued. Mostly because I hadn’t tried any of their products up to that point. But I know how much people rave about Huda’s products and how life-changing some of them have been. For this particular Allure Beauty Box, Huda Kattan made a special liquid lipstick hue specifically for this occasion, creating an orange-red shade appropriately named Allure.

Now, I have no qualms over the quality of the liquid lipstick. It is worth all the hype her liquid lipsticks have garnered. It’s long-lasting and it doesn’t bleed. So those are two things that I look for when determining the success factor of a liquid lipstick. However, the shade Allure is terrible for anyone who’s as pale as I am. It isn’t a universal red as I thought it might be. Instead, it’s more of a bold bright orange than red. It’s not very flattering for pale skins, but feel it would be an excellent shade for those who have darker skin and want a red that isn’t on the classic side.

So the product was good but the shade wasn’t. Can’t win them all!
