Review: Keys Soulcare Transformation Cream

What It Is: A hydrating and moisturizing face cream that helps plump up the skin.

Active Ingredients: Bakuchiol, Malachite, Ceramides, and Hyaluronic Acid

Verdict: This moisturizer is everything I love and look for in a moisturizer – it’s nourishing and thick without it being greasy. I use this at night and I tend to gravitate towards moisturizers that don’t quickly disappear after a few seconds. A little goes a long way and I recommend using this for the face and neck as it really helps plump up the skin without weighing it down. I have oily skin and this moisturizer was perfect – drier skin would definitely benefit from this one too.

Review: Blinc Ultravolume Tubing Mascara

What It Is: Volumizing Mascara

Why It’s Special: Clean & Vegan

Perfect For: Contact Lens wearers and those who have sensitive eyes.

Verdict: The formula for this mascara is absolutely silky, meaning it will leave you with soft, smooth elongated lashes that are completely clump-free! The bristles are classic and the wand leans on the classic side too, none of the hard plastic bristles nor strange angles. This mascara creates natural-looking lashes that look both longer and fuller. I only used two coats and it really made a huge difference. This is an absolute 10/10 recommend mascara, especially if you’re leaning towards a natural lash look rather than an exaggerated fake lash look.

Review: Neolastin Revitalize & Firm Eye Cream

What It Is: Moisturizing anti-aging eye cream

What It Does: Seals moisture, depuffs, eliminates dark circles, and improves the production of collagen and elastin.

Active Ingredients: Matrixyl 3000, Argiriline, Eyeliss, Glucam E-20, Murumuru butter, Isopropyl Isosterate.

Verdict: When it comes to eye creams I tend to favor those that are opulent and thick, especially when I use them as overnight creams. This cream delivers in the sense that it feels both like a luxurious cashmere hug and works in keeping your eye area hydrated well into the night. The price on this may seem a little steep for what it is (I don’t think it works better than less expensive eye creams from Origins or Glam Glow), but it does deliver on its promise of diminishing fine lines and keeping your skin plump and youthful. If you have some extra cash to spend, I do recommend checking this eye cream out, but it’s not a huge game-changer enough for me to want to purchase it as a staple.

Review: Boscia Pro-Retinol Repair + Renew Waterless Advanced Treatment

What It Is: Retinol Treatment Cream

What It Does: Helps diminish the appearance of wrinkles and dark spots

Active Ingredients: 0.6% Retinol, Vitamin C, and Sunflower Fatty Acids

Verdict: For best results, retinol should be used at night. You usually apply this first, prior to any other serum or moisturizer. I’ve used other retinol in the past, and for me, I haven’t seen much difference (then again I mostly use it for dark spots and not really fine lines). But I do like how this retinol has been effective in getting rid of any dark spots (being uber pale as myself can be a curse when you live in a sunny place like So-Cal). So if you’re looking for retinol that does get rid of dark spots and gives your skin a smoother, glowy appearance, then this might work out for you.

Review: Alpha-H Liquid Gold with Glycolic Acid

What It Is: Exfoliating Tonic

What It Does: Supports collagen production and accelerates the skin renewal process.

Active Ingredients: 5% Glycolic Acid

Verdict: Although this product is an exfoliating tonic, it actually has more of a toner consistency. The best method of application for this tonic is by soaking a cotton ball with the liquid and patting it all over your face. Both my mum and I have been using it, and once it’s applied we can quickly feel the glycolic acid taking effect as our skin tingles. After only a single application my mum mentioned how it banished the blackheads from her nose. I hadn’t applied any on my nose so I was unable to see those results, but the following night I decided to give it a shot, and did notice the following morning that they were less noticeable. I think I’ll be able to see more benefits as the days progress but in just a week I’ve been able to notice that my skin is brighter and the texture is definitely better, a lot smoother and soft too. If you’re looking for a product with glycolic acid that actually works, then this is the one. Try it out, you won’t regret it, actually your skin will thank you for it.

Review: Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream

What It Is: Hydrating Eye Cream

What It Does: De-puffs and Brightens the eye area.

Active Ingredients: Avocado, Shea Butter, and Beta-Carotene

Verdict: It’s no surprise that avocado is a superfood when it comes to nourishing the skin with its hefty dose of Vitamin C and Oleic Acid (a healthy fat) it helps prevent wrinkles and sun damage. Also, it’s fucking delicious to eat, so it’s basically a miracle fruit. So when I had the chance to try out Kiehl’s avocado eye cream I couldn’t be more stoked. This eye cream is hella hydrating and rich. It’s the sort of eye cream that you put on at night cause it’s far too fatty and thick to sit well beneath makeup. Waking up after eight hours of this cream soaking into my skin feels like bliss. The skin is rejuvinated, nourished, and hydrated. Plus, it tackles fine lines like a pro. Like I said, avocado is a miracle fruit and Kiehl’s just managed to package it in a form of a very effective eye cream.

Review: Paradox Lucky Stars Blemish Patches

What It Is: Blemish Patches

What It Does: Visibly reduces the size of pimples and helps promote healing.

Active Ingredients: Hydrocolloid, Calendula, and Tree Tea Oil

Verdict: I’ve been wanting to try these blemish patches out ever since they were sent to me, but lately I’ve been blessed with clear skin. However, not so since the humidity levels have been insane, so I finally got to use them and honestly, look how freaking adorable they are! Unlike other blemish patches you can easily sport these outdoors because a random black star positioned just so on your face will give off major glam Marie Antoinette vibes. But enough of me gushing about how darn cute they are – the real question is: do they work? I can wholeheartedly say that YES THEY DO! These patches truly work wonders! They suck out all the gross pus and impurities while you’re sleeping or going out and about your day allowing the temptation to pick or squeeze said zit to diminish. And I know how tempting picking can be! For my particular zit, it went down with one patch kept on overnight. But by the second one, it made it disappear completely. I cannot recommend this enough if you have a pimple and wish to banish it stat. Not to mention that no one would be none the wiser of what you’re truly concealing beneath the black star.

Price: $18 (for 40 patches)

Review: Belif – The True Cream Aqua Bomb

What It Is: Light weight gel-cream

What It Does: Hydrates and nourishes skin

Active Ingredients: Aloe Vera

Skincare Concerns: Dryness, dullness, and uneven texture

Verdict: When scouting for a moisturizer, I’m looking for two things: that it hydrates my skin and that it’s light enough not to clog my pores. This moisturizer perfectly fits the bill. It’s light and gel-like substance but it isn’t as watery as most moisturizers aimed for oily skin are. It still feels rich without feeling too heavy. In fact, it completely absorbs into the skin leaving it feeling fresh, hydrated, and glowing. It’s truly a tall glass of water for your skin!

Review: Purlisse Watermelon + Charcoal Purifying Cleanser

What It Is: Purifying Cleanser

What It Does: Banishes dirt but hydrates skin.

Active Ingredients: Watermelon, Vitamins A, B6, and C, Charcoal, Green Tea, and Aloe Vera

Verdict: This has easily become my newest favourite cleanser. First of all – it smells divine – like you’re being pulled right into the summer months with a mouth watering watermelon scent that will make you feel like you’re biting into the most exquisite slice. The best thing about this cleanser is that it helps ban dirt and oil without ever stripping your skin of its precious essential oils. You’re left with hydrated skin, never tight or dry.

Review: Mudmasky – Leave Me On Winter Mask

What It Is: Leave On Moisturizing Mask

What it Does: Protects, nourishes, moisturizes, repairs skin and also helps with anti-aging.

Active Ingredients: Linoleic acid, Jojoba Oil, Macadamia Oil, and Moroccan Lava Clay.

Verdict: I gotta be honest, the cream itself was alright, but it really wasn’t anything to go crazy about. I didn’t see much difference using this cream as opposed to another one. Although if you’re looking for a light moisturizer, then this may be up your alley. Or if you’re someone who’s been having skin problems because of wearing facemasks, this moisturizer has anti-acne ingredients that will keep the dreaded “maskne” at bay. So, this moisturizer has a lot of merits, but I just personally wasn’t too crazy about it because in comparison to others that I’ve tried and based on the price, I don’t think it’s a must-have, however, if you do face some of the issues that I’ve stated above then you may want to check this out.
